Hands-on: Slaying mammoth monsters in Dragon’s Dogma’s long-awaited PC port - longthate1938

If you've been holding unfashionable hope that last-gen RPG Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisenwould have a PC port someday…uh, well, that happened. Or it will happen, rather—the port hits Steam tomorrow, nearly four years after the game's original Xbox 360/PS3 set in motion.

I booted the game earlier this week and ran through the first few hours. As you might expect, the pun runs quite bit advisable on a modern PC than it did on the old console ironware. Testing Dragon's Dogma on my GeForce GTX 980 Ti-equipped machine was (no storm) overkill, easily maxing out the game at 1080p and maintaining north of 100+ frames per second. That's good news show for Dragon's Tenet fans, granted that the original console versions often dipped down to 15fps to 20fps.

The catch? For altogether Capcom's talk about "Stunning visuals"—I took that quote direct from the Steamer page—Firedrake's Dogma looks decidedly like a utmost-gen gamy. It's quite bit crisper played at modern Microcomputer resolutions and the lighting effects nabbed an overhaul, but the textures, weirdly-empty streets, and distributed vegetation every last screaming 2012.

For those who are already fans or are curious about the combat, however, this seems same a perfectly qualified port.
